MURDER MYSTERY DINNER SHOWS
Dinner, Drag, Drinks… and a Detective? Vancouver Mysteries creates original murder mysteries in Vancouver and beyond.
Interact with the suspects, solve a puzzle, collect clues and help our detective solve the murder! There are three different Murder is a Drag shows (so far!) – each one is a different chapter in the show series. They are standalone shows (you don’t need to see them in any particular order).

Murder Mystery Dinners – How does it Work?
This is general information about how all of our murder mystery shows work – check separate show dates for more info or call our Experience Team, they are in Mystery HQ daily 10:30AM to 6:30PM.
Showtime: Showtimes vary – we have evening shows as well as brunches. Check availability here.
Location: Murder is a Drag shows have been staged on Davie Street in Vancouver’s West End, in Gastown in downtown Vancouver as well as other cities. Vancouver shows are currently located on the second floor of the Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites (438 Seymour Street).
Price: Ticket prices includes the 90 minute show with puzzles to solve and the chance to win prizes! Sometimes the shows are offered as a murder mystery dinner show, sometimes the ticket includes a drink and/or snack and sometimes the ticket is for the show only. Check the specific event pages for details.
Not included in the ticket price: gratuity, fees and taxes will be adding during the booking process – you will see the charges before you check out please call us if you have any questions! The ticketing platforms we work with also charge an additional fee – you can avoid this fee when you book directly with Vancouver Mysteries (by phone or email). Please provide your first and last name, email address and number of guests in your party and we’ll book you in.

MURDER IS A DRAG SERIES: CHOOSE FROM THREE SHOWS!
We have three chapters of Murder is a Drag and plans for a 4th show later this year. Each chapter takes place in a different setting with a different murder victim and 3 different suspects. These original murder mystery shows are Vancouver Mysteries productions based on scripts written by Tanya Bennett, the owner of Vancouver Mysteries, and are not available anywhere else at this time. You don’t need to see the shows in any particular order – each chapter in the series is a separate murder mystery with a new story and new suspects.
Chapter 1: Dinner Date With Death
A murder mystery set at a restaurant with some very spicy drama! Can you solve the murder? This very first Murder is a Drag show started at a small venue on Davie Street and has now been staged almost a dozen times!
Chapter 2: Wake the Dead
This show takes place at a memorial for a local business man (please wear black) but be prepared for tears of laughter when the drama starts to unfold. This chapter premiered in May 2024 with two back-to-back sold out shows in one night!
Chapter 3: Rhinestones are Forever
You are guests at a wedding (wedding attire encouraged)! This show premiered at Dine Out Vancouver Festival in January 2025 with 3 sold out dinner shows and two sold out brunches.
What a fun night! The food was delicious and the actors and the mystery was great! Love the participation, the humour and everything about it! I highly recommend you try this
Murder is a Drag Shows – General Event Information
This is general event information for all Murder is a Drag show dates. Check your booking confirmation or the Mystery Blog for information about specific event dates. We also send the ticket purchaser an email with event information a few days before the show – please share this information with everyone in your group.
- Most events are 19+, check individual listings for details or check in with us directly by phone/email.
- Get there early! Doors usually open up to 1 hour before showtime. Check your tickets or your booking confirmation for timing and plan to arrive early to: check in, get seated, place your orders and possibly be given special role assignments. Seating is first come, first serve – smaller groups may also be seated at a shared table with other groups.
- 90 minute murder mystery experience (with two intermissions)
- Interactive or Just Want to Watch? You get to choose when you arrive.
- Fun & Games– in the spirit of Vancouver Mysteries games, there are puzzles to solve & clues to collect (optional).
- Performances – the cast is entirely made up of drag performers from our Murder is a Drag Ensemble – the three suspects and the detective in this murder mystery are drag performers and they will also perform songs!
- Prizes! You can vote for who you think is the murderer!

Note: if you want to be seated together, please buy your tickets together! We will do our best to accommodate other requests if you contact us before the event. We can not guarantee seating choice if you don’t get in touch with us ahead of time.
The Murder is a Drag Ensemble
The Murder is a Drag Ensemble is a team of talented local entertainment professionals with roles as Experience Host, DJ/Sound and cast. We hold open auditions from time to time, if you are interested in joining our ensemble get in touch. Drag performers should also have backgrounds in acting, burlesque, improvisation and/or comedy. The Ensemble is supported by our Experience Team at Vancouver Mysteries HQ, who manage our box office sales, puzzle building, props and more.
