Have you registered for the Spooky Story Salon yet? You could win a gift certificate for a free Vancouver Mysteries game!

The Vancouver Public Library invites you to an afternoon of spooky storytelling featuring three local performers: Fanny Kearse of Vancouver Poetry House, Gina Armstrong and Victoria Vancek of Haunted History BC, and artist Stephen Hamm: Theremin Man. This free event in downtown Vancouver and the Vancouver Public Library (central branch) is part of the Lights Out program in partnership with video streaming service Kanopy. The Lights Out program is a series of virtual and in-person free events that explore the human fascination with horror and the uncanny. After the performances, there will be  a Q&A discussion about the panel’s ghostly inspirations and connection to the craft of storytelling. Costumes encouraged! Plus, one lucky attendee will win a gift certificate for a free Vancouver Mysteries game.

Sign up with your team of 2 to 6 players to compete against other teams at Vancouver Mysteries Halloween Nights and you might win the first volume of Evenings & Avenues – Hauntings in the Outskirts, a large glossy collection of stories about mysterious places in British Columbia and Canada.  Register for the Spooky Story Salon here..

Staying Home this Weekend? Tune in to Episode 20 of Vancouver Public Library’s Story Stream to listen to Vancouver Mysteries owner Tanya Bennett read a murder mystery featuring one of her favourite detectives, Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple. Watch the video here. 

HALLOWEEN MYSTERY NIGHTS RUNS UNTIL OCTOBER 31

The winner can redeem their gift certificate for any outdoor game, including special events and new games to be released in 2023. Outdoor games run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week, year round (rain or shine!). Gift Certificates are valid for 18 months. Halloween Mystery Nights returns this year from October 13 to October 31, with three games to choose from and multiple times every single day. Costumes encouraged!
