Sign up your team of 2 to 6 players for an outdoor escape game in downtown Vancouver. Superhero game Heroes & Villains re-opens on February 14, 2025 so you have FIVE games to choose from, including one for groups with younger kids. Games run every 30 minutes 362 days a year but popular time slots may sell out.

Vancouver Mysteries outdoor escape games are a fun Valentine’s Day activity for families or groups of friends as well as a fun date idea. Each team is a private team, you are only teamed up with the people you invite. If more than one team signs up for the same time slot, teams compete against each other for the top score! Choose from spy game Secret Mission, Gastown murder mystery Crime in Downtown, paranormal investigation Ghost Patrol and two versions of Heroes & Villains (one version is for groups with younger kids).

Are they fans of spy movies, superhero movies or detective tv shows, paranormal investigations or ghost hunters, true crime or crime scene investigations (CSI)? An outdoor mystery game is the perfect way to get away from screens and experience real-life adventure and fun.  For example we can allow them to sign the waiver when they arrive rather than before the game if we know you want to surprise them.

Private games are also available by booking a game for at least seven players (even if only two of you will be there). Private games include the option to book a custom start location – for example, our detective could meet you in your hotel lobby or outside your restaurant after dinner to surprise you with a mystery. A date idea: Book Crime in Downtown to work an exciting murder case together on the romantic cobblestone streets of Gastown. Stop for a hot chocolate along the way, or get your photo taken at the photobooth temporarily set up at Le Magasin. Then grab a cocktail or dinner at one of the many fantastic bars and restaurants along the route.

2. MYSTERY DINING

Solve a mystery with escape room style challenges seated at a long table with drink service from Stock and Supply. Then enjoy Stock Boards afterwards. We continue to collaborate with our friends at Stock + Supply to pair our indoor portable mystery games with drinks and Stock Boards to share in the lobby lounge of the Delta Hotels by Marriott Vancouver Downtown Suites! Choose from The Legend of the Gastown Gold on Friday the 13th at 4PM or The Case of the Hotel Detective on February 14 at 4PM and Sunday February 14 at 4PM and 7PM (SOLD OUT). This is a collabarative and social experience, you’ll be seated at a table with others who have signed up for the same time. 10 spots or less available in each time slot – sign up in groups of 2 or more people and solve a mystery together! The Legend of the Gastown Gold is set in 1886 – solve puzzles, use maps and collect clues and you may be rewarded with gold! This brand new game launched during Dine Out Vancouver Festival  2025 and is so popular we have extended its run.

3. FAMILY FUN FOR FAMILY DAY WEEKEND

Her0es & Villains is a superhero themed outdoor escape game that runs from February through to the end of October each year. This year, the game route re-opens on February 13 just in time for Family Day weekend. The Family Version of this Vancouver Mysteries game was designed specifically for groups with younger kids (ages 6 and up). Kids under 6 can be added to your team for free when you book.

VALENTINES FUN FOR EVERYONE

Everyone welcome! You can play in pairs or any group size you want (minimum 2 players) so our games are perfect for couples, polycules, groups of pals and families! Vancouver Mysteries is also an accredited Rainbow Certified business. Our dining experiences also have options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free folks!

The maximum team size for most of our outdoor games is 6 players but larger groups can sign up as more than one team (or book your own private game if you have more than 6 players).

We have a version of superheroes game Heroes & Villains for groups with younger kids (team sizes for this game is 2 to 5 players per team). Plus, up to 2 kids under 6 years old can join any team for free! Minimum team size is 2 players.

How far in advance should I book Valentine’s day?

Valentine’s Day weekend and Valentine’s Day has sold out in the past so please book soon if you can. However, we have different games running every half hour, every day – availability shows on our Book Now page when you choose the game you want to play. If you don’t see the time you want, try choosing a different game. If you have a last minute Valentines date request you can also call, text or email us and our Experience Team will do our best to help you.
