#WEARETOURISM

Vancouver Mysteries was recently selected to be featured on the Metro Vancouver Tourism Task Force website with the Lookout. It has been a challenging year and we are grateful for this opportunity!

OUR STORY

When Tanya Bennett, owner of Vancouver Mysteries, held Mystery Night events at the Vancouver Lookout last October, she didn’t know this fateful evening would lead to a meaningful partnership.

The one-time event blossomed into a unique opportunity to partner with Vancouver Lookout when Pamela Thurston, Manager of Guest Experience & Operations reached out to Tanya and proposed to bring the new indoor game The Case of the Hotel Detective to the Lookout after their re-opening. They have been partnering up on this pop-event since August.

For Vancouver Mysteries, a popular tourist experience, business was down over almost 80% over the summer but October is looking to compete with last year. Vancouver Lookout were used to welcoming up to 1,500 guests a day, and have reinvented their offerings into either a one-hour, private on-deck experience for groups, or an event space for up to 50 guests.

Pamela asks locals to picture the Vancouver Lookout for not what it used to be, but what it can be. As for Tanya, appreciating the camaraderie of the tourism industry, is feeling even more connected to people despite the pandemic and physical distancing protocols.
